One characteristic of developed countries is the high productivity of quality research and the use of research results as a basis for public policy making. Higher education institutions in Indonesia are demanded to be able to contribute more to the progress of development through research. Likewise, local governments need to make decisions based on accurate data and reliable analysis.
However, one of the biggest obstacles in increasing the productivity of research in Indonesia is the limited data available for researchers. Researchers usually spend a lot of time and energy hand-collecting data to be ready to use and this would prolong the research process. This makes the research process inefficient. The development of this database was motivated by the desire to accelerate research productivity at the national level and assist in the formulation of public policies related to local and provincial governments.
We present this database to help researchers working in the public sector to be able to conduct research more productively. So researchers can focus on doing research and no longer wasted their time to obtain and prepare data. And so that public policy making can be more precise and provide optimal benefits for the community. The data we provide is sourced from financial reports from district, city and provincial governments throughout Indonesia, and other public data from various sources.
This database is still in the process of being developed and the scope of data available to users will continue to grow. We hope that the data and analysis that we provide can benefit academics in Indonesia to be more productive in conducting research and so that public decision makers can be more confident in making policies.
